The Thoroughbred Magazine Club is conducted and undertaken by The Slattery Media Group Pty Ltd ACN 070 697 522 (“The Slattery Media Group”) which owns and operates www.thethoroughbred.com.au (“the website”).

Membership of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club is subject to the following terms and conditions together with Terms and Conditions of Use of Website, The Slattery Media Group Privacy Policy and other customer service policies on this website. As a member of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club you agree to be bound by each of these terms and conditions and policies and any other notices accepted by you on this website. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions do not access this website or use any of its services or products.

These terms and conditions are subject to change from time to time, such changes to be effective upon posting on this website.

Membership

Free membership to The Thoroughbred Magazine Club is available to

• subscribers to The Thoroughbred magazine who have paid the subscription fee
• subscribers to Racing In Australia, Guide To Season 08/09 and The Thoroughbred magazine who have paid the subscription fee
• advertisers who purchase a premium or platinum listing in Racing In Australia, Guide To Season 08/09.

Members of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club must be at least 18 years of age.

Member details

When registering as a member of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club you must provide us with accurate, complete and up to date information as requested. It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to that information. You may do this at any time by sending us an email at info@thethoroughbred.com.au. If you wish to end your membership of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club please send us an email at info@thethoroughbred.com.au

Membership benefits

Membership of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club is designed to provide members with an insight into the thoroughbred racing industry including some aspects of the experience of racing a thoroughbred. To this end, The Slattery Media Group and/or its nominee shall lease a thoroughbred filly (“the filly”) from Eliza Park Stud which will be trained by Mr Robbie Griffiths at Cranbourne. The Slattery Media Group and/or its nominee shall be responsible for all costs associated with the filly including breaking in, stabling, training, racing, floating and other transportation, agistment, spelling, insurance, veterinary services, jockeys fees, gear, colours and management. Members of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club are not responsible for payment of any costs, expenses or fees in relation to the filly.

Members of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club are entitled to access certain features, services, discounts and arrangements (“the membership benefits”) on the website may include the following:

• Login access to The Thoroughbred Magazine Club website;
• Discounted purchase price for Racing In Australia, Guide To Season 08/09;
• Membership card and associated benefits such as loyalty discounts with affiliated retailers;
• Regular e-letters providing exclusive updates and information in relation to the filly; and
• Exclusive invitations to functions, events and race meetings.

Membership benefits – third party suppliers

Some of the membership benefits which are offered to members of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club may be provided by suppliers over which The Slattery Media Group has no control. Arrangements for the availability and utilisation of membership benefits so offered are made by The Slattery Media Group solely as agents for the suppliers providing such membership benefits. In each case the provision of the membership benefits will be subject to the terms and conditions of the suppliers providing such membership benefits and any claims relating to the supply of such benefits should be made to the supplier. The Slattery Media Group will not be liable for refusal of any supplier of membership benefits to accept or honour the membership card nor will The Slattery Media Group be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever, whether in whole or part, of any membership benefits.

Distribution of Prize Money

The Slattery Media Group and/or its nominee shall be entitled to receipt of all prize money percentages in respect of the filly. Members of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club are not entitled to receipt of prize moneys in respect of the filly. The Thoroughbred Magazine Club is not a syndicate.

The Slattery Media Group may elect in its absolute discretion to distribute a percentage of prize moneys, after deduction of expenses, to the National Jockeys’ Trust or such other not-for- profit organisation as The Slattery Media Group may determine in its absolute discretion.

Members of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club will be provided with a range of information about the filly and various aspects of the racing industry in Victoria. While The Slattery Media Group makes every effort to ensure that such information is accurate and free from defect, The Slattery Media Group provides this website and its contents on an "as is" basis. So far as is permitted by law, The Slattery Media Group and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, suppliers, content providers and the like (together, "affiliates") make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, with respect to the information provided to The Thoroughbred Magazine Club members.

Termination

The Slattery Media Group reserves the right at any time and in its absolute discretion to revoke the membership of any member of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club and/or the right of any member to use the membership card or access any of the membership benefits.

Applicable jurisdiction

These terms and conditions shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria in relation to any legal proceeding directly or indirectly arising out or relating to this site (including but not limited to membership of The Thoroughbred Magazine Club).
